I’m Dr. De Vida Gill, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, educator, author, speaker, and former performing artist with over 30 years of experience in mental health services. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals across a variety of clinical and educational settings, bringing together my backgrounds in mental health, education, and the arts to create a multidimensional approach to emotional wellness and personal growth.
My practice focuses on supporting creatives, entrepreneurs, innovative professionals, and out-of-the-box thinkers who may appear capable and accomplished yet find themselves struggling beneath the surface. You may be navigating anxiety, depression, self-doubt, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, relationship concerns, or a significant life transition. My goal is to help you look beneath the surface, better understand the patterns influencing your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and choices, and develop greater self-awareness and emotional resilience.
My connection to creative and innovative individuals is both professional and personal. My background spans the performing, visual, and literary arts, and I understand that people who think differently often benefit from having the freedom to explore themselves differently. You don’t have to be an artist to benefit from a creative approach to therapy. Creativity may simply mean being curious, seeing possibilities others may overlook, questioning conventional ways of thinking, or being open to exploring yourself from a different perspective.
Education is also an important part of the lens I bring to my work. I have served as an adjunct professor in graduate programs in Social Work, Psychology, and Education, and that experience continues to influence the active and reflective nature of my therapeutic approach. I believe insight becomes especially meaningful when you can connect what you discover in therapy to your everyday life.
My approach is integrative, eclectic, collaborative, and strength-focused. Depending on your individual needs, our work may include reflection, journaling, mindfulness, creative or expressive techniques, and personalized exercises designed to help deepen your understanding and put new insights into practice. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work with you to explore what is beneath the surface, recognize the strengths you already possess, and develop practical strategies that fit who you are.
Above all, I believe therapy should provide room for you to show up authentically—without having to fit yourself into someone else’s idea of who you should be. My role is to provide a supportive and unbiased space where you can explore, question, discover, and grow while developing greater clarity and confidence in how you move forward.
